The Ritz – Carlton, Vienna

Located on the famous Ringstrasse in Vienna and adjacent to historic Stadtpark.

Just recently I was invited to experience the new Spa at the ideally located Ritz Carlton Vienna.

Let’s say I was more than a little excited to see what they had created.

The Hotel is a mix of perfectly amalgamated Renaissance, Baroque with gothic and modern Influences which mix perfectly in what was once four historic palaces.

I was more than a little excited to see what they had created.

Located on the famous Ringstrasse in Vienna and adjacent to historic Stadtpark the location of this luxurious property is second to none.

The hotel is in the perfect starting location to visit the many cultural wonders of Vienna.

The Ritz – Carlton Spa is a lush urban oasis set in the city center and features one of the longest indoor swimming pools in Vienna which I, gladly, took advantage of as not many properties in Vienna provide this option.

If a workout is what you are after, there is a fully equipped Gym directly next to the Spa.

I also checked out the “females only” facility’s which included a lovely aromatic, spotless, steam room, with a sauna, shower and heated relaxation beds.

I mention spotless, as not all steam rooms are, it’s always advisable to wash down the area you are going to sit down on.

After helping myself to some lovely prepared spa water I was greeted by my therapist, who by the way, resembled Kim Kardashian, and was very courteous and professional.

She was very friendly, asked all the right questions and very carefully advised me on the products she was going to use as I had sore patches around my eyes due to a product I had recently tested.

The treatment rooms are calming and designed with relaxation and total comfort in mind.

Originally I was booked in for the Ultimate Natural Anti- Ageing Ritual but due to the reaction to the product I tested a few days before I was recommended a slightly different treatment.

The Spa brand of choice of the Ritz Carlton Vienna is Susanne Kaufmann, an organic line made in Austria.

My face was cleansed, gently massaged, scrubbed and after a mask, I experienced an ultrasound technique that some of the treatment’s use.

I then headed out to the relaxation area and had a great chat with the spa manager who was very knowledgeable on all things “spa” and “healthy living”.

Still in the glow of my treatment I drank a green Detox Delight juice which is the spas preferred partner.

There are 6 flavours to choose form, all are completely unprocessed, plant-based beverages and are largely uncooked.

The experience left such a good impression on me that the very next day I booked myself in for a massage!

When the treatment was over, my skin was glowing and felt much firmer

After all my exercise, relaxation and my conversation with the Spa manager about trying to become a vegetarian for a few weeks, I was famished!!

The Ritz –Carlton Vienna offers guests one of the best steakhouses in the city, the Dstrikt Steakhouse.

It’s not overly posh and provides guests with a vibrant and trendy atmosphere.

The steak Tartar I ordered as a starter was made to perfection in front of me which added to the experience and my main course, which consisted of steak and truffle chips, did not disappoint!

Life’s too short to always be on a diet! It was superb!

When visiting you must try their signature desert, a mouthwatering cheesecake, guaranteed to satisfy any palate!
